Is the difference between males and females communication patterns similar to the difference between people from different cultures? Why or why not?

Before talking about it, I think people have their own way to communicate, and it depends on the environment they have experienced. Honestly, I partly agree that each country, each culture has their own character, but it can't be represented to all people in the country and in the culture.
Moreover, I also agree with the bias that male and female's communication styles are slightly different. As we learned, men's communication style is direct, strong, mild. In contrast, women's style is indirect and soft in general. But as time goes by, this bias seems to change gradually so far. In fact, when we were childeren, we had convinced and educated the role of gender by parents. However, in these days, parents of new generation began to remove the unvisible fixed role as gender when they educate their offspring.
This trend can be also explained by disappearing the bais about job. Workplace is one of the most common place that we talk. In the past, people has been brainwashed the specific gender of some jobs. For example, we had some job words such as policeman, fireman, etc.. But nowadays, it changed to police officer and fire fighter. As we can see, the gap of speaking style of gender is diminishing by this stream of change.
Of course, there are some cultures which have obvious images and speaking styles about men and women such as Islamic culture. In my opinion, the reason why they still have differences is each culture has their own characteristics which are inherited for long time. Some are conservative, some are progressive. But we can't deny the big stream of communication style is going to be mixed from the both genders' features.
